What We’re All About
Beta Alpha Psi (ΒΑΨ) is an international honor society for accounting, finance and information systems students attending universities accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business or the European Quality Improvement System. It was founded on February 12, 1919, at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and is currently headquartered in Durham, North Carolina, in the United States. The organization has over 300 chapters on college and university campuses with over 300,000 members worldwide.
Beta Alpha Psi encourages and recognizes scholastic and professional excellence in the business information field, promotes the study and practice of accounting, finance and information systems, and provides opportunities for self-development, service and association among members and practicing professionals. It "strives to encourage a sense of ethical, social, and public responsibility". The organization also promotes the development of technical and professional skills that are used to complement the university education, philanthropic activities, and interaction between students, faculty and professionals. Beta Alpha Psi's objectives are accomplished through the activities of each chapter respectively. Each chapter receives financial funding for these activities through sponsorship of various public and private firms.
Our Purpose
The purpose of BAP is to prepare students to succeed in the professional business environment by providing exposure to key issues in all business majors. Our members are provided with the opportunity to mingle with top executives of many firms in a variety of industries as well as to partake in fun and rewarding community service and social activities!
Our Goal
Beta Alpha Psi's goal is to provide the most current information for our members and candidates with respect to the relevant forces shaping their careers. Obtaining such knowledge makes our members and pledges more marketable and ultimately, a greater value-add to the business world.
Our Community
BAP: Nu Sigma Chapter encourages a sense of ethical, moral, and public responsibility. In recognition of the value and rewards of giving back to the community, we are involved in a number of service initiatives. Complementing these professional activities are our Social Events!

Founded in 1919, Beta Alpha Psi is an honor organization for financial information students and professionals. There are over 300 chapters on college and university campuses with over 300,000 members initiated since Beta Alpha Psi's formation. All of our chapters are AACSB and/or EQUIS accredited. We are not a fraternity or sorority but an honors organization.
